My goal will be to keep these as short as possible due to lack of time…
Let us talk about work! It doesn’t matter your sex, age, race, ethnicity, or religion, nor does it matter if you are working 40 hours a week, or more, or a stay at home mom and/or dad…work is work and it has to get done. The question(s) become, “how do I have a healthy lifestyle, stay fit, without interrupting work” and “where do find the time to stop what I am doing and workout, meal prep, and still find time to spend with a significant other, the children (furry ones count too – as in dogs/cats/etc. not furry children). It is stressful trying to eat good, look good, and still manage to maintain a house, job, and not want to feel like killing somebody. The stress raises your cortisol, which perpetuates into depression, weight gain, tiredness, decreased libido (oh yes – I will openly talk about sex health too), and other negative issues.
First things first before starting anything….write down when you realistically can wake up and go to sleep, getting our healthy 8 hours of sleep (we will discuss insomnia later). I have to get up at 4:30am everyday to get my workout in, because realistically, I won’t be able to workout because easily some nights I am at work, with my colleagues, until 8pm or later. I then manage to come home and crash at 8:30-9pm usually 🙂
So your first step 1) Make a time that works for you 2) If no time works for you, then stick workout bands with simple exercises at work/house to do while you have a 5-10 minute break, do these 12-20reps, 1 set x 3 times during the day.
You have already conquered time issues and let us see how it goes! Once you pick a timed, stick with it! I don’t care what you decide to do with that time (ie: cardio, weights, body exercises) but it is simply the fact you are now doing something to start, even if small, then you’ll see that you want more! Stay tuned for exercise ideas at the office ; )
